After 90 minutes curled in a fetal position in the footwell, I finally have a wide accelerator pedal!
It was basically 5 minutes of install and 85 minutes with some man-sized pliers trying to bend/rip/break the stock pedal cover off.
The new cover doesn’t quite match up with the round plastic grips, but the heel-toe-ability is a night/day difference.
Oh, and fuck you Subi engineer who came up with the dumb stock pedal placement.

Pedals make a difference. Heel toe work in my NA is even easier after I installed a Flying MiAta pedal kit. Just makes it hard with my boots on though haha.

Wanna talk about dumb pedal placement? My truck has the clutch and brake in line with each other but the accelerator sits roughly 2” lower than all the other pedals. Plus my ebrake is a pedal on the floor, not a handle and it takes up the space of where a dead pedal should be. In other words, I cant heel toe and I have no dead pedal

2015 WRX.
If you have big ass feet, you can probably make the stock pedals work.
But driving shoes are narrow, and my feet are only size-9. But the extra 3/4” extender on the new pedal makes all the difference.

I actually learned to heel-toe in my NA Miata back in college. Those pedals were spaced so that I could use my actual heel to blip the throttle, instead of the right edge of my foot like in my WRX.

I’ve always had a dead pedal, but I know the struggle of the antisocial gas pedal. My 330xi and A4 both had gas pedals that were way too deep. So I basically went 2.5 years without being able to heel-toe.

Subi’s usually are referred to having some of the best spacing... Did it change all that much from the ‘14? Pedal-wise of course. I didn’t have a problem at all in my ‘12 and I wear 9. My ‘13 Golf R is the definition of horrible spacing
